Work environments are the repositories of daily emotions. Interestingly, the deposit of today can often be dissimilar to that of yesterday and can be alarmingly unrelated to yesterday’s and today’s, tomorrow. Yep, quite confusing.
The challenge confronting organizations however is not these divergent deposits. Nope! These are to be expected; we are human. Think about it, the challenge more often than not is in the misunderstanding and mismanagement of this potpourri of emotional deposits, which believe it or not naturally add to the “sweet bank" of emotions, giving birth to more emotions and a basket of unintended outputs. Outputs which are in conflict with organizational values, product quality and customer expectations.
So here’s my take... there is value to managing deposits of divergent emotions with balanced deposits of emotion.
