Doing it Afraid

Was in a recent coaching session with a small business owner who in my estimation is a brave-hearted individual with a strong sense of self and purpose. Towards the end of that session as we affirmed intent and defined next steps, in a quiet but very resolute voice she said, “I am doing this project afraid, but refuse to let fear paralyze me…this is a new me” The potency of those words...the conviction with which they were deposited and the unbendable decision to win irrespective of circumstance, clearly signaled the rising-up of mental fortitude to meet the challenge of tomorrow. When I asked if she was conscious of what she had just said, though mindful that she spoke, she was not fully aware of her inner resolve, which naturally came to the surface. I submit to us that there is a measure of fight in each of us, that the issues of the day are calling on us to unleash. Tough though it be…press into purpose and resolve like that determined business owner “I am doing this afraid, but refuse to let fear paralyze me…this is a new me” #investinexcellence #excellentorganizations #excellentemployees #purposedriven #determination #notgivingup #winningstrategies #winningmindset
