(FSMS) based on ISO 22000

Adhering to internationally recognized food safety standards is no longer considered a luxury; rather, it has evolved into a fundamental requirement for all organizations involved in food production and service. Those responsible for implementing these systems play a critical role in an organization’s success in maintaining food safety.    


Implementing a Food Safety Management System (FSMS) standards is a strategic approach organizations can adopt to ensure the safety of food products delivered to consumers. 


This training course is designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills needed to support an organization in the establishment, implementation, management, and maintenance of an FSMS based on ISO 22000 and other recognized best practices. 


Through this training course, participants will learn how to set up processes that ensure the quality and safety of products and services, while complying with all legal, regulatory, and other relevant requirements. Additionally, the course covers guidelines on how to establish controls that proactively prevent noncompliance, thereby fostering a culture of safety, integrity, transparency, and openness within the organization.


The training course is followed by the certification exam. If you pass, you can apply for the “PECB Certified ISO 22000 Lead Implementer” credential. The “PECB ISO 22000 Lead Implementer” certificate is internationally recognized. It validates your professional capabilities and competences to implement an FSMS in an organization based on the requirements of ISO 22000.

Examination

ISO 22000 Food Safety Management - Lead Implementer

The “PECB ISO 22000 Lead Implementer” exam fully meets the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP) requirements. It covers the following competency domains: 

  • Domain 1 - Fundamental principles and concepts of a food safety management system 

  • Domain 2 - Initiation of the FSMS implementation 

  • Domain 3 - Planning of an FSMS implementation based on ISO 22000 

  • Domain 4 - Implementation of an FSMS based on ISO 22000 

  • Domain 5 - Monitoring and measurement of an FSMS based on ISO 22000 

  • Domain 6 - Continual improvement of an FSMS based on ISO 22000 

  • Domain 7 - Preparation for an FSMS certification audit


After passing the exam, you can apply for one of the following credentials. You will receive a certificate once you fulfill all the requirements of the selected credential.


PECB Certified ISO 22000 Provisional Implementer

This entry-level credential is intended for individuals who have successfully demonstrated knowledge of ISO 22000 requirements but do not yet have practical implementation experience.

Requirements

  • Examination:
    PECB Certified ISO 22000 Lead Implementer Exam or equivalent

  • Professional Experience:
    No professional experience required

  • FSMS Project Experience:
    No project experience required

  • Other Requirements:
    Signing the PECB Code of Ethics


PECB Certified ISO 22000 Implementer

This certification is designed for professionals actively involved in FSMS implementation activities within food safety environments.

Requirements

  • Examination:
    PECB Certified ISO 22000 Lead Implementer Exam or equivalent

  • Professional Experience:
    Two (2) years total, including at least one (1) year of work experience in Food Safety Management

  • FSMS Project Experience:
    A minimum of 200 hours of project activities

  • Other Requirements:
    Signing the PECB Code of Ethics


PECB Certified ISO 22000 Lead Implementer

This advanced certification recognizes professionals who lead FSMS implementation projects and support organizations through the full ISO 22000 implementation lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Examination:
    PECB Certified ISO 22000 Lead Implementer Exam or equivalent

  • Professional Experience:
    Five (5) years total, including at least two (2) years of work experience in Food Safety Management

  • FSMS Project Experience:
    A minimum of 300 hours of project activities

  • Other Requirements:
    Signing the PECB Code of Ethics


PECB Certified ISO 22000 Senior Lead Implementer

This highest-level credential is intended for seasoned professionals with extensive leadership experience in food safety management system implementation.

Requirements

  • Examination:
    PECB Certified ISO 22000 Lead Implementer Exam or equivalent

  • Professional Experience:
    Ten (10) years total, including at least seven (7) years of work experience in Food Safety Management

  • FSMS Project Experience:
    A minimum of 1,000 hours of project activities

  • Other Requirements:
    Signing the PECB Code of Ethics

  • In case of exam failure, candidates can retake the exam once for free within 12 months following the initial exam date.
